Use the charts below to compare scores and ranks across countries for the SSPI and its underlying pillars and categories. Click a country's bar on any chart to highlight it on all charts, showing a country's policy strengths and weaknesses, both in absolute terms and relative to other countries.

Scores and Ranks: SSPI Pillars

The SSPI is comprised of three pillars: Sustainability, Market Structure, and Public Goods.

  • Public Goods is the strongest pillar with a low spread around a comparatively high average.
  • Sustainability has the weakest average, but few strong performers, and few exceptionally weak performers. All countries must improve Sustainability policies
  • Market structure has an average nearly as low as Sustainability, but a higher spread around that average.

The Sustainability Pillar contains five categories: Ecosystem, Land, Energy, Greenhouse Gases, and Waste.
