Note: The SSPI 2018 Data is presented and analyzed in the working paper "National Policies to Support Sustainable, Equitable Economies." This initial version of the SSPI differs in indicator definitions, category composition, year coverage, and country coverage from the current version of the SSPI presented on the main page of the site. Use caution when comparing values across these datasets.

Sustainable and Shared-Prosperity Policy Index 2018

The 2018 SSPI measures the strength of national policies across 57 policy indicators across 49 countries in the year 2018. This "static" index is the progenitor to the 2000-2023 "dynamic" SSPI presented here.

The SSPI organizes indicators into categories, each of measures the performance of a package of related policies in a specific sector. Categories are grouped into pillars corresponding to the three core tasks of government in the twenty-first century.
